Register to Vote or Request Absentee Ballot

The deadlines are COMING UP SOON to register to vote or request an absentee ballot. If you are as excited about this election as I am, you would definitley not want to pass up your American privilege to vote. For more info, click here.

Spirit Of Survival Cancer Fundraiser

Coming up October 4-5, there is a Spirit of Survival Marathon benefiting the Southwest Oklahoma Cancer Centers (including the one being built here in Altus.) If the full blown marathon is not your thing, there is also a 5K run, a 5K Spirit Walk, a Super Kid's Marathon, a Holy Half Marathon, and a Big Rock 10K. This would be a great way to get a little exercise and raise money for cancer patients at the same time. I know at least one person doing the Mountain Marathon, and I am truely impressed by the amount of training and devotion that goes into preparing for this.

This takes place at the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge. Even if you don't participate, feel free to go on out and cheer on the runners! More info here.

Last Two Weeks for Starbucks!!!

Sadly, this is the last full week to enjoy yourself a White Chocolate Mocha or a Java Chip Frappachino at the Altus Starbucks. Starbucks will close it's doors on Sept. 19th. You can probably bet that I will be there almost every morning this week.

On the upside, Starbucks coffee can still be bought at Fred's Expresso Shop. And the coffee at Confectionatley Yours is not too shabby either...
