I received the an email from Altus Power with the following information to pass on:

Altus Power to Serve Base Housing

ALTUS, OKLAHOMA, May 27, 2009/--Starting Thursday May 27th Altus Power will replace Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (WFEC) as the electric service provider for the Altus Air Force Base Housing. The changeover will be done in sections and will take several days to complete.
During the switching to the new provider, each section of base housing should be out of power for 3 hours or less. The outages will begin at the south end of base housing and advance north as switching progresses.Altus Power welcomes all our new customers and would like to assure them that the outages will be kept as short as possible. Let's Go Swimming!

Hooray for pools + summer!

First- the Base Pool. Sign up for swimming lessons through Outdoor Rec. They have 3 different sessions with different skill levels. The lessons are in the morning and free swim starts at 1p. Outdoor Rec also sells pool passes and family pool passes. As you come in the base gates, and start onto the round-about, Outdoor Rec is on the first right off the round-about. The building is on your right hand side and has a canoe over the entry.

Second- Altus Swimming Complex. This is the pool for the city of Altus. It is managed by the Parks and Rec department. I received a very full printed spreadsheet of times and schedules, but I haven't been able to find it on the City Parks & Rec website. (If you have a copy, please email me.) From what I see, the enrollment for swimming classes are May 28th and 29th.
Session 1 - June 1-11
Session 2 - June 15-25
Session 3 - June 29 - July 9

Open swim at the city pool is from 1p-4p then 5p-8p, 7 days a week, and the cost is $3. Swim lessons appear to be at various times and skill levels in the mornings, M-Th.

-------------------------
Again, if you have either of these schedules electronically, please email me- reannalilydesigns@hotmail.com. Have a great summer!
