Free Train Ride!
A message from Joan Wilcoxen:
I have GREAT NEWS for our military families in the area! Farm Rail, the Altus ASYMCA, and the City of Lone Wolf are hosting a FREE 4th of July Train Ride for all military families in the area!
Active duty military and retirees and their families are welcome to ride FREE on the "Independence Day Special Excursion" of the Quartz Mountain Flyer. Families of Deployed troops are very welcome, too! The trip begins at the Quartz Mountain Whistle Stop at the junction of Highway 44 and 44A, where boarding begins on Saturday July 4th at 2:30. The air conditioned passenger train features large panoramic windows, reclining seats, and spotless restrooms. The twenty mile round trip leaves the station at three o'clock, and the route journeys over the storied “Orient Line” that linked Kansas City with the Pacific Coast of Mexico. The train will stop at the City of Lone Wolf to enjoy the 4th of July Parade there, and then return to Quartz Mountain by 5:30. Farm Rail salutes the sacrifices and dedication of our Military families by hosting this special appreciation ride. FREE Tickets are available for the whole military family by calling Margie at the City of Lone Wolf at 580-846-9078 to make your reservation. Tickets are first come-first served, so call today!
***********The 3pm ride is completely booked, but I just booked a free one at 10am (boarding starts at 9:30). Unfortunately we'll miss the parade, but I think my 3 year old will love it anyway! Don't know how many seats are left, so hurry and Call Margie at 580-846-9078 today!

Book Drive
I wanted to let you all know about a book drive on base for the pediatric clinic. I know we've all sat in clinic waiting, patiently, for our little ones to be seen/treated.
So if you're cleaning out the shelves for the next school year or your looking to unload pounds before the pcs- please consider donating your children's books. Donations locations will be set up through the month of June. Thanks!
