Library Story Hour Info

Altus Public Library- Storytime on WEDNESDAYS at 10:30-11:00 a.m. Ages 3-6. Younger children are welcome if they can sit still (their words, not mine. :). More info here.

Goodbye Starbucks, Hello Quizno's

Only two more days for the Altus Starbucks. Go grab yourself a White Chocolate Mocha before it's too late.

(11 miles South of Altus on Highway 283 (Elmer Country Store)

then 9 miles west on Highway 5...FOLLOW SIGNS)

Races start at 11:00 a.m. (Drivers meeting at 10:30 a.m.)

Gate Entry: $7.00 (Children 10 and under...FREE)

Bring Lawn Chairs, Shades, and coolers. Overnight camping available. DJ Saturday night.

Buddy Holly Tribute

A tribute to Buddy Holly will be this Saturday, September 20th at 7:30 and the Altus City Auditorium. Tickets are $15.00 in advance (children 10 and under are free) and can be purchased at Eddie's Cafe, Altus Parks and Recreation office, and local radio stations. For info, call 580-816-0080.

Spouse Socials

Enlisted Spouse Club Social- TONIGHT, Sept, 15th (Sorry for the late notice!!) at 6:00 p.m. in Building 39. Featuring BUNKO and a Gift Basket Giveaway.

Officer Spouses Club- Thursday, Sept. 18th. 6:30 p.m. at the Freedom Community Center. Come-and-Go Information Fair and Ice Cream Social.

Sewing Classes and Reannalily Designs

Altus is very blessed to have gained Jen, the creator of Reannalily Designs into our town! Jen has a sewing business and sells a varitey of handmade goods. She also offers sewing lessons to those of all skill levels. Here are a few pictures of Jen's prize-winning creations at the Jackson County Fair.


Jen is offering a Beginner Class on October 4th from 9-12 (space limited.) The class will focus on making a Go Green Bag/Trick or Treat Bag/Book Tote. The cost is $20.00 + supplies. For more info, check out her website here.
